DCMS Staff

Bryan Campbell, DCMS Chief Executive Officer:

Bryan Campbell has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Duval County Medical Society since February, 2012. Bryan is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He moved to Florida in 2002 to work at First Coast News, where he was the Executive Producer until 2006. After nearly 14 years in broadcast television, he transitioned to organized medicine in 2006, becoming the Director of Public, Media and Industry Relations for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. He worked at AACE until joining the DCMS in 2012.

Bryan believes that organized medicine is a critical part of American society, providing a unified voice for physicians and providing valuable resources to physicians and their practices. He believes that in spite of, or maybe even because of, the rapid changes to the health care system, organized medicine is more important now than ever.
Bryan is an avid sports fan. He is a season ticket holder for the Jacksonville Jaguars and gets to at least one Nebraska Cornhuskers football game every season. He lives in Orange Park with his wife, Sarah, and two children: Lauren, and Nathan.

Kristy Williford, Communications Coordinator:

Kristy Williford joined the DCMS in December 2014 as the Communications Coordinator. Previously, Kristy was a news reporter for more than eight years. She worked at TV stations in Jacksonville, San Diego, Tampa/St. Petersburg and Panama City Beach.

At DCMS, Kristy is responsible for managing Northeast Florida Medicine, a quarterly journal covering a variety of topics in medicine. Kristy also coordinates a DCMS column with The Florida Times-Union and helps arrange interviews for local media outlets. She is responsible for the Annual DCMS Directory, the DCMS website and social media accounts, and for coordinating the DCMS Leadership Academy and the annual Beals & Shahin awards.

Kristy was raised on Kent Island in Maryland's Chesapeake Bay. Naturally, that makes her a lover of blue crabs and the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. She loves warm weather, though, which brought her to the University of Florida for college. She spends most of her time with her husband, WC, a longtime Jacksonville resident. The Willifords are Jags season ticket holders and they love to travel. So far, their favorite adventures have been dog sledding on an Alaskan glacier, climbing the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, and going on safari in Sri Lanka. They have a cat and a dachshund.

Contact Kristy:

Marissa Saftner, Administrative Assistant:

Marissa Saftner joined the DCMS in January 2016 as the County Coordinator. Currently, she serves as the DCMS Administrative Assistant. Prior to coming on staff, she made a huge contribution as the DCMS Autumn 2015 intern.

Marissa graduated from the University of North Florida in December 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Health Administration.

She lives in her favorite Florida city, St. Augustine Beach, with her basset hound, Spencer. When she's not working, Marissa spends most of her time at the beach.

Tammy Chaney, Director of Foundation Operations:

Tammy Chaney serves as the Director of Foundation Operations for the Duval County Medical Society Foundation. She brings extensive experience in organized medicine, from industry in the area of medical device, to previous work as Director, Board of Directors & Industry Activities for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists for 17 years. Tammy also worked with the Florida Medical Association and its Board of Governors prior to its historical relocation from Jacksonville to Tallahassee.

Under the DCMS Foundation, Tammy will oversee the day-to-day operations and its three core programs under the Mission First initiative.

Tammy has been a resident in the Jacksonville community since attending college in the field of nursing and has since reared two sons -- one an active duty Marine and one a high school senior.
